gracious christianity

Most Christians would like to act graciously toward others, and that is what Jesus calls us to do, but it can sometimes be hard to treat others with kindness and compassion if we don't have good ways of explaining to ourselves why we should live that way. Gracious Christianity helps fill that void by exploring how core Christian beliefs support and encourage the love of God, the love of other people, and the love of the world as a whole.

Gracious Christianity is the result of many heartfelt conversations we have had with a broad variety of people over the last five to ten years. In those conversations we tried to listen as best we could and to learn as much as possible. We have also been instructed over and over again by the wisdom of those who have gone before us--by all the saints and scholars who are part of the long history of the church.  Finally we have been helped immeasurably by our colleagues and students at Messiah College. In fact, the table of contents of Gracious Christianity largely follows the order of subjects in the Messiah College Confession of Faith.

If you have special insights to share with us or alternative ways of understanding different facets of Christian faith, we would love to hear what you have to say.
